Having recently themed a couple of other llama sanctuary posts on ‘The Sound of Music,’ I read over the weekend that Maria von Trapp died recently at the age of 99. She was the last surviving member of the von Trapp Family Singers, whose story inspired the Rogers and Hammerstein musical.I don’t know about you, but the songs and the film always put a smile on my face in just the same way that sitting on the hill top watching the llamas and listening to the contented sound of munching llamas and alpacas imbues me with that feel-good factor.
Apparently, The Sound of Music movie is screened every week for the guests at the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont. Neat eh?
In the meantime, here’s another themed photo from the old Llama Sanctuary – we’re still desperately searching for a new and larger property; more grazing must be found this year!
